What is an NMC node?

An NMC node is responsible for storing and processing private data and blinding factors used to mask
the underlying data. These nodes are further broken down into a classification of light nodes and full
nodes. Light nodes store and process only the fragmented underlying data uploaded to the network by
dealer nodes. Full nodes additionally are able to securely store and process the blinding factors used to
mask the underlying data.

Since Nillion is a permissionless network, anyone that meets the requirements outlined by the nilDAO is
eligible to be a light node or full node. The eligibility requirements to be a full node are more stringent,
as the data being held is more sensitive in nature.
